### What is View a single shift?

It’s a focused view of a single resource shift. It shows travel details, conflicts between appointments and a small set of tools to help arrange appointments and optimise travel time.

### For who is View a single shift?

This feature is suitable for planners who want to see detailed information about the travel and route a resource will take for a given day and use this information to optimise the shift.

### What are its features?

A planner can right-click on a spot in the planning section and select the context menu action “View a single shift“.

Clicking this option will open a new modal window inside Dispatch Panel, showing a focused view of the shift. The shift opens on the day that the action as clicked from and it contains the following parts:

#### Shift schedule

Displays the schedule with travel time embedded in the plan. Appointments can be moved in this view, but not resized. You can also use the arrow buttons in the schedule corners to change the displayed start/end time of the day.

#### Map

Shows the route on an embedded map. If a live location for the resource is available, it will be shown as well. This map takes your user settings into account and will display in the configured colours.

#### Information

Shows more detailed time and travel information about the shift. Some of the details need to wait until travel data is calculated and will display a loading indicator while calculating. If there are inconsistencies in the schedule, the corresponding information will be highlighted in red.

#### Actions

##### Reverse route

This action reverses the order of appointments.

If there are any locked appointments or absences, the action will show a warning indicator and any locked appointments or absences will be left as they were.

##### Apply travel time

This action moves each appointment so that they get aligned to each other based on travel times. The first appointment is aligned with the shift start time. The order of appointments is kept intact and if an appointment cannot fit in the schedule, it will stack under the previous appointment requiring manual fixing.

If there are any locked appointments or absences, the action will show a warning indicator and any locked appointments or absences will be left as they were. The order of appointments will be kept intact and only appointments that can be moved will move accordingly.

#### Conflicts

Displays a list of messages about conflicts between appointments. The following conflicts are reported:

- Two appointments are overlapping
- The travel time of an appointment is overlapping with another appointment or its travel time
- Appointments are scheduled outside of working hours
- Travel time of an appointment falls outside of working hours
- An appointment is scheduled outside of its scheduled period
- An appointment is scheduled outside of its planned scope (timeframe)
- An appointment is missing a location

Clicking on a conflict will highlight the related appointments.

#### Footer

The footer contains buttons to save the changes made inside the shift view or revert the changes back to the last saved state.

#### Settings

View a single shift is customizable and can be adjusted by clicking the settings button in the top right corner of the popup.

- **Show travel distance**  
Toggles the displayed distance in the schedule.
- **Show travel duration**  
Toggles the displayed duration in the schedule.
- **Ignore absences**  
If enabled, absences will not cause any conflicts and using the “Apply travel time“ button will ignore absences when aligning other appointments.
- **Ignore travel outside working hours**  
If enabled, removes all conflicts related to travel time before the shift start and after the shift end. When using the “Apply travel time“ button, appointments will be aligned to the start of the shift disregarding the leading travel time.
- **Appointment layout**  
Changes how appointments behave when they are overlapping. If stacked is selected, appointments will appear above each other. If overlapped is selected, appointments will overlap through each other instead.
