This page describes in steps how to properly handle incoming deep links into visualforce apps you configured.

## Step 1: Configure the app

Configuration should include a [VisualForce app](https://help.fieldbuddy.com/space/FBDOCS/5244452889/Applications#URL-based--Apps), similar to the one below:

- `visible` should be `false` because we want to hide this app in the drawer.
- `isVisualForce` must be `true`.
- `params` can include any **static** parameters you would like to have in the deep link.
  - Leave empty if there are no static parameters.

## Step 2: Construct the deep link

Here is an example deep link:

```shell
fieldbuddy://deeplinkUrlParsingApp/?statusAction=ACTIVATE&activationCode=8809-2454-7867
```

- Deep link must start with `fieldbuddy://` (case-sensitive).
- The name of the Visualforce app must match with the app in the deep link (case-sensitive).
- You can pass static or dynamic parameters in the query after the app name, and either `?` or `/?`. They should be separated with `&`.

## Limitations

- Deep linking to VisualForce apps while the app is closed is not supported.
- User must be properly authenticated before linking to a Visualforce app. Otherwise they may need to re-login before seeing the app.
