If any changes are made on appointments (like dragging-in work orders or moving the appointment around) the appointments will be slightly greyed-out and a changes indicator will appear next to the menu buttons. The changes indicator displays how many changes are pending when hovering over it and changes into a spinning sync icon when a sync is ongoing. ## Presets ![image-20260528-111220.png](media://a622181c-515e-4818-9b89-255d04afff3e) Presets are a set of settings that can be applied immediately with a single click. The Dispatch Panel has one pre-defined Default that is always available. You can create new presets by pressing the **“+”** button in the top right of the popup. This will create a new preset with the currently set settings. You can apply a saved preset by clicking on it. Each preset has a set of buttons, these are: - **Save** - saves the current settings in the preset - **Edit** - change the name of the preset, names have to be unique - **Clone** - duplicates the preset under a new name - **Export** - copies text into your clipboard for backup or sharing - **Delete** - removes the preset from the list There is also an **Import** button next the the **“+”** where you can paste in an exported preset to import to your list of presets. Not all settings are stored in presets, only the ones that are related to the current view of thee schedule. Presets are not shared between devices and users. If you would like to share presets between devices, please use the export/import functionality. > ℹ️ > ℹ️ Also, since they are stored locally on the device, [clearing the browser’s local storage](https://upperdeck.atlassian.net/wiki/x/FID2jwE) will also remove all saved presets. ## Map ![image-20260219-111535.png](media://97f9e557-7bd3-4f39-9141-bb040de9d24c) In order to open or close the map, click on the menu-icon and go to the bottom and select “Open Map” or “Close Map”. The map menu has the following categories: ### Display The display settings determine what data is shown on the map: - Events (Appointments on the planning panel) - Work Orders (Current selected listing) - Resources (Start Location) - Resources (End Location) - Routes (With a number of displayed routes next to it) > ℹ️ Routes display is only available with [FieldBuddy Enterprise](https://upperdeck.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/FBDOCS/pages/5183307777/FieldBuddy+Glossary#FieldBuddy-Enterprise). ### Routes The routes settings control the display of multiple routes on the map. It has the following options: - Manage Routes - Clear All Routes Routing can be managed either using the Manage Routes popup, or through context actions in the scheduler by right clicking on a day or appointment. Add a route for display by clicking either “Route” to only display that day’s route, or by clicking “Add Route” to add it to the list of displayed routes. ![image-20260219-112946.png](media://45f90ef6-5f53-4cea-8ff6-341531ed8b94) The Manage Routes modal can be used to easily add or remove routes. On the left is a list of all shown routes and on the right a form for showing additional routes. If a user schedules (or moves) an event to a time that it outside the scheduled period. 2. If a user schedules (or moves) an event to a resource that doesn’t have the required skills. 3. If a user schedules (or moves) an event outside of working hours. 4. If a user changes a smart planning optimised event. 5. Any sync errors occur. 6. Notifications from custom Salesforce flows. All warnings can be removed clicking **Clear all** ## Smart Planning ![image-20260219-113545.png](media://1defb3f0-4444-45da-ac36-1baa27237979) This menu displays recently executed [Smart Planning jobs](https://upperdeck.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/FBDOCS/pages/5183307777/FieldBuddy+Glossary#Smart-Planning-Job). - Green in case if it is successfully completed. - Yellow in case if it is pending - Red in cases there’s an error. All smart planning job notifications can be removed clicking “Clear all”. They will not be deleted in Salesforce, just the menu. In cases there are errors, click on the Smart Planning job to open it in Salesforce. Read more about Smart Planning [here](https://upperdeck.atlassian.net/wiki/x/FAC8aAE). This menu displays data from all users. If other users initiate a smart planning job, it will be added. > ℹ️ This option is only available with [FieldBuddy Enterprise](https://upperdeck.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/FBDOCS/pages/5183307777/FieldBuddy+Glossary#FieldBuddy-Enterprise). ## Settings There are multiple sections in the settings menu. > ℹ️ All settings are **personal **and stored locally on the device. Modifying the settings (with the exception of activating or deactivating resources) do not impact other users. ### Display In this section the following settings can be modified: 1. **View** affect which days are visible (All days, weekdays only or weekend only) 2. **Zoom** affects how many days are visible (1 day, 1 week, 2 weeks, 3 weeks 4 weeks, or 8 weeks) 3. **Day start **and **Day end** determine at which time the planning panel starts and ends 4. **Time resolution** changes the accuracy when moving or scheduling an event in the planning panel 5. **Adjust column width** changes the width of the columns in the planning panel 6. **Adjust row height** changes the row height of the planning panel 7. **Group Resources by** can be set to none, group or type. Resources will be sorted into collapsible groups in the resource section 8. **Date and time display** changes how the dates and times in the dispatch panel are displayed - *Locale-based* options change based on the user’s locale in Salesforce, the options without this label do not change based on locale settings. - Some dates and times are formatted on app launch and as such they will not change immediately, but require the page to be refreshed manually. 9. **Show timeframe** can be toggled on/off to show or hide a visual indication of a scheduled period ![image-20260219-120010.png](media://2abd2d70-92db-4fb9-8e4a-618a61e75b09) ### Planning > ℹ️ Un-confirming an appointment will not result in either the time or resource locks to be removed. #### Lock Time on Confirm Appointment If this setting is enabled, the appointment will be automatically locked in time when an appointment is confirmed. Read more about locking a resource feature [here](https://upperdeck.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/FBDOCS/pages/6004899841/Planning+Section#Lock-Resource) and on appointment confirmation [here](https://upperdeck.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/FBDOCS/pages/6004899841/Planning+Section#Confirm-Appointment). #### Show extra travel information If enabled, the Quickly plan a work order window will contain more detailed information about travel times and distances. #### Do not allow moving appointments outside the scheduled period If enabled, this setting will not allow moving or resizing appointments outside their timeframe. If disabled, moving or resizing an appointment outside its timeframe will only display a warning. ![timeframe.gif](media://6c67a888-af3a-4c89-bd52-7aacbf023bbd) ### Theme These settings control the general look of the application. - Change the **Application theme** controlling the look of the Planning and Bottom sections of the app. - For general use, we recommend the **Svalbard **theme. - For improved visibility, we recommend the **High Contrast** theme. - Change the **Application mode** to swap between Light and Dark mode depending on preference. You can also set it to follow system settings which will change depending on your devices settings. - Change the **Appointment theme** to control how appointment blocks in the planning section look. - The default and any custom theme, are based on the customers configured settings. - The Smart Planning, Skills, Work Order Type, Work Order Status and Work Order Priority themes are delivered as part of the dispatch panel and can not be modified. These built-in themes have a small legend describing the different colors that they use. > ℹ️ Read more on how to create a custom theme [here](https://upperdeck.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/FBDOCS/pages/5242421274) and how to modify the standard default theme or content information [here](https://upperdeck.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/FBDOCS/pages/5242650667). ### Performance Performance settings can help you improve your overall performance in case the dispatch panel performs slower. Try disabling some of these features and see if the performance improves. #### Disable Appointment Icons Disables the icons shown on the left side of an appointment. #### Disable Appointment Content Disables the text inside an appointment block. #### Disable Appointment Content in tooltip Disables the text inside the appointment hover. > ℹ️ A popular setting is to: > ℹ️ > ℹ️ - Enable icons > ℹ️ - Disable the content > ℹ️ - Enable the content in the tooltip > ℹ️ > ℹ️ this saves performance and users can still search and hover. #### Disable displaying time constraints during Appointment change Disables warnings about an appointment when it’s dragged outside it's scope. #### Disable Resource Picture Disables the profile images of resources in the [resource section](https://upperdeck.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/FBDOCS/pages/6004899851) on the left side of the dispatch panel. When disabled, the pictures are replaced with an abbreviation of their name. #### Disable displaying the Resource during planning Disables the resource name shown when dragging a new Work Order into the planning panel. #### Disable displaying the time during planning Disables the time shown when dragging a new Work Order into the planning panel. #### Disable Work Order Synchronisation Disables automatic work order synchronization when a regular sync occurs. The user will be required to sync the table manually via the refresh icon: ![wo-refresh.png](media://333e2390-6e89-44cc-bf73-a4b86abf7f1d) #### Disable displaying time constraints during Work Order Planning Same as [https://upperdeck.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/FBDOCS/pages/6004506631/Menu+Section#Disable-displaying-time-constraints-during-Appointment-change](https://upperdeck.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/FBDOCS/pages/6004506631/Menu+Section#Disable-displaying-time-constraints-during-Appointment-change) but for scheduling new Work Orders. Any time a constraint is broken a warning will be displayed. #### Disable animations Disables animations when loading appointments. ### Synchronisation Change the frequency at which the dispatch panel automatically synchronizes data. > ⚠️ Synchronizing changes too often can cause performance to degrade. It’s recommended to use a longer sync interval and if needed manually sync changes with the icon in the header or by using [keyboard shortcuts](https://upperdeck.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/FBDOCS/pages/5236785195). ![image-20260219-114022.png](media://24f76bd4-6f8d-4e2a-9f4f-7c1995e81ade) ### Manage Resources The Manage Resources menu lists all resources. These can be easily activated or deactivated. > ⚠️ Making a Resource active/inactive will change it for **all users!** You can modify the resources directly from the dispatch panel or create new ones using the **Create Resource** button. > ℹ️ If a Resource is created without a user it is considered virtual and will not be connected to the mobile application of a user. ### Keyboard shortcuts Lists all available shortcuts with a short description as well as the option to disable all keyboard shortcuts. These change what’s displayed on the map and how the map itself is styled. There’s also an option to choose which traffic profile to use for calculating times and distances for travel. ### Accessibility Settings in this section can be enabled to improve visual clarity for users that need it. #### High Visibility This setting was removed in favor of the High Contrast application theme. This also affects the markers displayed on the map, with all appointments using a blue color instead of the color of the resource they’re assigned to. ## Full screen Click the “More” button in the upper-right corner (three dots). In this menu, one of the options is to open the FieldBuddy Dispatch Panel in a full-screen mode, without the FieldBuddy Service Center panel at the top. > ℹ️ Launching the app in full-screen mode might improve performance.
