# Filters

At the top of the panel there is a selection of filters available. When relaunching the FieldBuddy Dispatch Panel filter settings are restored from previous session. This data is stored locally on your device. Switching between devices will not keep settings in sync.

If any filter is active, the clear filter icon is marked blue as well as the relevant filter menu. Active filters also display the number of currently unfiltered values.

In case data can not be found, make sure you have no filters active!

Changing filters only affects you and not anyone else in the [organisation](https://upperdeck.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/FBDOCS/pages/5183307777/FieldBuddy+Glossary#Organisation-or-org). This does also mean that filters are also not transferred between devices.

## All filters

## Date picker

The date picker allows you to quickly switch between days or weeks. Depending on your zoom-settings. 

If your zoom is set to a single day, the arrows will move between days.

If your zoom is set to a week or more, the arrows will move between weeks.

Clicking on any date in the date-picker will allow you to navigate to that date immediately.

> ℹ️ When moving between different dates, the application will store the loaded appointments in the devices memory. However if the selected date is moved further than 8 weeks, the saved date is unloaded to save memory.

## Resource filter

This filter changes which [Resources](https://upperdeck.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/FBDOCS/pages/5183307777/FieldBuddy+Glossary#Resource) are displayed in the Resource and Planning sections. This filter only displays active Resources.

## Resource Type filter

This filter changes which [Resources](https://upperdeck.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/FBDOCS/pages/5183307777/FieldBuddy+Glossary#Resource) are displayed in the Resource and Planning sections based on their [Resource Types](https://upperdeck.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/FBDOCS/pages/5183307777/FieldBuddy+Glossary#Resource-Types).

Each resource can have one or no Resource Types. Ones without a Resource Type will fall into the category “Resources without Resource Type”.

## Resource Group filter

This filter changes which [Resources](https://upperdeck.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/FBDOCS/pages/5183307777/FieldBuddy+Glossary#Resource) are displayed in the Resource and Planning sections based on their [Resource Groups](https://upperdeck.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/FBDOCS/pages/5183307777/FieldBuddy+Glossary#Resource-Groups).

Each resource can have one or no Resource Groups. Ones without a Resource Group will fall into the category “Resources without Resource Group”.

## Skill filter

This filter changes what gets displayed based on the assigned [Skills](https://upperdeck.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/FBDOCS/pages/5183307777/FieldBuddy+Glossary#Skills). 

If the **Apply to Resources** option is checked, this filter filters out any Resources without the assigned skills.

If the **Apply to Appointments** option is checked, this filter filters out any Appointments without the assigned skills.

If the **Apply to Work Orders** option is checked, this filter filters out any Work Orders from the Listings table that do not have the assigned skills.

## Work Order Type

This filter changes which Appointments are displayed in the Planning section based on the underlying Work Order’s type.

# Filter/Search

The last piece of the filter section is a combined Filter and Search field. You can toggle between the two with a toggle. When using the Filter field, any matched appointments are shown in the planning, but any appointments that are not matched will be completely filtered-out of the planning. When using the Search field, appointments that are not matched are instead just greyed-out, still staying in the planning.

Both search only through the data visible on the Appointment block, by default the search looks through:

- Work Order number
- Name of the Account
- Address (street, postal code, city)

The data in the Resource Assignment block can be modified. And thus data it searches through can be modified as well.
