It might occur that the optimisation results of the Smart Planning module does not seem to be optimal - for example, there are loops in the route. In case if that occurs, it is advised to check the following items first:

- Are all the locations properly geo-coded (contain latitude/longitude)?
- Are there any skills assigned on work orders? Those could impact the expected route (work orders with skills should be assigned to resource with skills)
- Are there any work order priorities? Work Orders with high-priority are tended to be planned with higher chance then work orders with medium or low priorities
- Are there any locks on existing appointments (like work orders should be done by certain resources in Dispatch Panel or in/within a certain time?)

> ℹ️ Every time when Smart Planning is executed, it will create a new record that will store all the information about the optimised results. It is stored in Smart Planning Job record. This record is required for analysis.

All of the above impacts the optimisation, but when it does not help – FieldBuddy support would need the following information in order to check it:

1. Organisation Id and granted access to support team (License Management ApplicationLMA - [https://upperdeck.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/FBDOCS/pages/5261557834](https://upperdeck.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/FBDOCS/pages/5261557834) )
2. Smart Planning Job Name and External ID that does not provide expected results
Those should not be older then 1 month.
For example, `SPJ-000076` and `e259455b-2756-487b-8f14-86e316ab68b6`

3. Amount of Resources (approximately) and Work Orders (approximately) that were optimised. That is not necessary, but will be handy
4. Explanation what does not seem logical. For example, screenshot from route in dispatch panel. For example, Aldus is going from in 1 → 2 → 3 → 4, while it makes more sense to go 1 → 3 → 2 → 4

5. Screenshots **and links** to Google maps for the clearly better routes.
Those could be obtained by changing the order of Work Orders in Dispatch Panel and using Open in Google Maps button in single-route view mode.
For example, as shown in example above, 1->2->3->4 will be [https://www.google.com/maps/dir/52.374515,6.263917/52.004294,6.235181/51.808357,5.128669/51.828412,5.7757/52.128019,5.713931/52.374515,6.263917/@52.0357942,5.0366637,9z/data=!3m1!4b1!4m2!4m1!3e0!11m1!6b1?entry=ttu&g_ep=EgoyMDI0MTIwMS4xIKXMDSoASAFQAw%3D%3D](https://www.google.com/maps/dir/52.374515,6.263917/52.004294,6.235181/51.808357,5.128669/51.828412,5.7757/52.128019,5.713931/52.374515,6.263917/@52.0357942,5.0366637,9z/data=!3m1!4b1!4m2!4m1!3e0!11m1!6b1?entry=ttu&g_ep=EgoyMDI0MTIwMS4xIKXMDSoASAFQAw%3D%3D) (around 4 hours 44 minutes of travel time)
 But 1 → 3 → 2 → 4 will give this -- [https://www.google.com/maps/dir/52.374515,6.263917/52.004294,6.235181/51.828412,5.7757/51.808357,5.128669/52.128019,5.713931/52.374515,6.263917/@52.0085289,4.9744045,9.27z/data=!4m2!4m1!3e0!11m1!6b1?entry=ttu&g_ep=EgoyMDI0MTIwMS4xIKXMDSoASAFQAw%3D%3D](https://www.google.com/maps/dir/52.374515,6.263917/52.004294,6.235181/51.828412,5.7757/51.808357,5.128669/52.128019,5.713931/52.374515,6.263917/@52.0085289,4.9744045,9.27z/data=!4m2!4m1!3e0!11m1!6b1?entry=ttu&g_ep=EgoyMDI0MTIwMS4xIKXMDSoASAFQAw%3D%3D) - (around 4 hours 40 minutes of travel time)

> ⚠️ It is important to provide **all the routes** for all the resources and days utilised in Smart planning, since otherwise having once “nice” route for 1 shift might inadvertently cause the other routes to have longer travel time

6. Feel free also to provide as much extra information as possible - that will help understanding the problem

Share this information with FieldBuddy support and we will take a look!

> 📝 FieldBuddy Support will do its best to analyse the provided results. If significant optimal routes are provided. The FieldBuddy team will contact its Smart Planning provider to figure out why.
