There are a limits to the FieldBuddy Swift application. There are two types of limits:

1. Limits within the application
2. Limits within the synchronization

An administrator should be aware of these limits. A limit can be **hard**, exceeding a hard limit will stop the working of the application or a limit can be **soft** and exceeding a soft limit can possibly impact performance or stability of the application. Read more about hardware requirements [here](https://upperdeck.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/FBDOCS/pages/5367464036).

> ⚠️ Exceeding limits **can **impact the performance and or stability of your application.

# Application limits

The application is designed to have by default as few limits as possible.

- Default briefcase Work Orders app filter +/- 14 days
- Agenda in the Work Order screen: 12 months back
- Default briefcase Timesheet app filter +/- 14 days
- Agenda in the Time Registration app screen: 12 months back
- Upload limits with Swift: The size of file to be uploaded can be maximum 35 MB

# Synchronisation limits

All of the hard limits are coming from the platform Salesforce on which FieldBuddy is hosted.

> ℹ️ The platform limitations from the Salesforce platform that are applicable on the FieldBuddy Swift sync are mentioned [here](https://developer.salesforce.com/docs/atlas.en-us.234.0.apexcode.meta/apexcode/apex_gov_limits.htm).

Want to know how to reduce them? Read [this](https://upperdeck.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/FBDOCS/pages/4580573186). Mentioned below are the most important limits to take into account.

### Amount of records synced to Swift (hard limit)

6100 (also known as the ‘payload’)

That includes all the Work Orders, Service Requests, Installed Products, Work Order Line Item and Details, Time Sheet Line Items, Accounts, Contacts, Files and Attachments.

> ⚠️ When configuring advanced checklists you should take this amount into account. Each question is a record.

### Amount of objects referenced in Briefcase (hard limit)

35

If same sObject is referenced few times - each time it counts (like Installed Product for Service Request and Work Order Line Item – that counts for two)

### Amount of record returned in a query (hard limit)

50000

Total number of records retrieved by a SOQL query.

### Heap size (hard limit)

6 MB

Heap size in actual is the count of memory used by the variables, object instances in an Apex class.
