> ⚠️ Please note that there could be an appSettings per application itself. Those override corresponding ones defined at the root of configuration

### App properties

| **Property** | Description |
| --- | --- |
| `name` | Internal name of the app, used for internal reference only |
| `defaultScreen` | The first screen that you will navigate to when you switch to the app. |
| `title` | Label for the display name of the app. Custom label can be used |
| `defaultTitle` | default display name of the app in case if title can not be resolved (for example, custom label do not exists). |
| `icon` | icon of the app (e.g. displayed next to the display name and when you navigate across apps without the drawer menu) |
| `default` | Boolean, is this the default app?<br>- Swift remembers the app that was last used and opens that one when swift is opened again |
| `appSettings` | when the app has it’s own appSettings these will be overwriting the global appSettings, otherwise the global appSettings will be used. |

| `visible` | Boolean, Allows to hide/show the app |
| `pluggableByDefault` | Boolean, should be always false. Used only for URL Based (web-url or Visualforce) Apps |
| `url` | Object, Used only for URL / Visualforce Apps. Below are sample configs for URL Based (web-url or Visualforce) Apps |
| `webViewProps` | Object, used for passing props to the Web view component rendering the app. Example:<br>```json

    "allowsPictureInPictureMediaPlayback": false

### **Types of Applications**

There are 2 types of application – regular one (like Work Orders and Time Registrations) and URL-based ones (web-url or Visualforce pages)

#### Regular Apps

Regular apps are apps like **Work Orders** and **Time Registration **that are provided out of the box with default FieldBuddy Swift configuration. It is possible to adjust them as per configuration guide (check [https://upperdeck.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/FBDOCS/pages/3107914305](https://upperdeck.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/FBDOCS/pages/3107914305)  or [https://upperdeck.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/FBDOCS/pages/3107914303](https://upperdeck.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/FBDOCS/pages/3107914303) ) 

> ℹ️ Work Orders application will be always opened when FieldBuddy Swift is launched regardless which position does it have in the list of apps

#### URL-based  Apps

URL-based apps allow to show a URL within FieldBuddy Swift application. It could be a VisualForce page or just any WEB url. Check for example configs below:

It is possible to specify parameters to the app, so if Swift user is in Work Order Details page – CURRENT_WORK_ORDER  as work order id will be passed to the URL page as respective parameter.

So opened URL will be in a format `/apex/SampleVisualforcePage?q=<wo id>`. But if it is opened from Dashboard  – no Work Order Id will be passed

The order of the applications shown for FieldBuddy Swift users is determined by their order in the Configuration file

Extra notes about VF pages

- If there is a VF app configured – profile or permissionset of a user should have an access to VF page + controller  ([https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=000385350&type=1](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=000385350&type=1) )
- VF Page will be shown in classic mode so all the styling needs to be handled inside page itself
