In this introduction documentation we explain what the product is, what it can do and its purpose. This introduction is mainly for everyone that is new to FieldBuddy and users of the FieldBuddy Dispatch Panel. > ℹ️ DPV2 is for now only available for a selected group of FieldBuddy customers and all new customers that signed up after 12/1/2022. Current customers will be notified when upgrade takes place. ## What is the FieldBuddy Dispatch Panel The FieldBuddy Dispatch Panel is a planning solution. Its used to dispatch [Work Orders](https://upperdeck.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/FBDOCS/pages/5183307777/FieldBuddy+Glossary#Work-Order) to [Resources](https://upperdeck.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/FBDOCS/pages/5183307777/FieldBuddy+Glossary#Resource). It answers who is doing what where and when within our [field service management](https://upperdeck.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/FBDOCS/pages/5183307777/FieldBuddy+Glossary#Fieldservice-management) solution. The FieldBuddy Dispatch Panel resides within the [FieldBuddy Service Center](https://upperdeck.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/FBDOCS/pages/5183307777/FieldBuddy+Glossary#FieldBuddy-Service-Center), which means its accessible via the webbrowser and used by the backoffice. Updates come via updates in the [managed package](https://upperdeck.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/FBDOCS/pages/5183307777/FieldBuddy+Glossary#Managed-Package). Technically the FieldBuddy Dispatch Panel is a JavaScript web-application that communicates with a back-end. The solution is completely embedded in the managed package and has no external required servers or services* to function. A cloud solution. **: DPV2 uses **[Google Maps API](https://developers.google.com/maps)** to display data on a map and sends technical logging information to a cloud logging-solution named **[Logentries](https://logentries.com/)**. DPV2 is not depended on those services to function.* ## For who is FieldBuddy Dispatch Panel The FieldBuddy Dispatch Panel is often used by users the back-office that are responsible for the planning of the workforce. Simply said, [planners](https://upperdeck.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/FBDOCS/pages/5183307777/FieldBuddy+Glossary#Planners)! Planners schedule the work using the FieldBuddy Dispatch Panel. The work is registered in our solution in a [Work Order](https://upperdeck.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/FBDOCS/pages/5183307777/FieldBuddy+Glossary#Work-Order) and the workforce consists of [Resources](https://upperdeck.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/FBDOCS/pages/5183307777/FieldBuddy+Glossary#Resource). Planners assign the work to the correct resource on the best possible time. It balances the needs of the company, the customer and the [resource(technician](https://upperdeck.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/FBDOCS/pages/5183307777/FieldBuddy+Glossary#Technicians)). A company wants an efficient planning to save fuel, the [customers](https://upperdeck.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/FBDOCS/pages/5183307777/FieldBuddy+Glossary#Customer) want to be helped as soon as possible and the technician wants a efficient route with well prepared [Work Orders](https://upperdeck.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/FBDOCS/pages/5183307777/FieldBuddy+Glossary#Work-Order). The FieldBuddy Dispatch Panel facilitates the requirements of planners. ## Editions There are three editions of the FieldBuddy Dispatch Panel: 1. FieldBuddy Dispatch Panel Enterprise 2. FieldBuddy Dispatch Panel Professional 3. FieldBuddy Dispatch Panel Lite ### FieldBuddy Dispatch Panel Enterprise This edition of the FieldBuddy Dispatch Panel has all available features and is for customers that have [FieldBuddy Enterprise](https://upperdeck.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/FBDOCS/pages/5183307777/FieldBuddy+Glossary#FieldBuddy-Enterprise). The [Smart Planning](https://upperdeck.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/FBDOCS/pages/5183307777/FieldBuddy+Glossary#Smart-Planning) module is part of this edition. An upgrade is required. > ⚠️ This version is only available for new customers, existing customers can request an upgrade. ### FieldBuddy Dispatch Panel Professional This edition of the FieldBuddy Dispatch Panel has most features and is for customers that have [FieldBuddy Professional](https://upperdeck.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/FBDOCS/pages/5183307777/FieldBuddy+Glossary#FieldBuddy-Professional). The [Smart Planning](https://upperdeck.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/FBDOCS/pages/5183307777/FieldBuddy+Glossary#Smart-Planning) module is not part of this [edition](https://upperdeck.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/FBDOCS/pages/5183307777/FieldBuddy+Glossary#Editions). An upgrade is required. > ⚠️ This version is only available for new customers, existing customers can request an upgrade. ### FieldBuddy Dispatch Panel Lite This edition is a lite version of the FieldBuddy Dispatch Panel. It has the basic features but its limited. This version is fully backwards compatible with older versions of FieldBuddy. [FieldBuddy Professional](https://upperdeck.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/FBDOCS/pages/5183307777/FieldBuddy+Glossary#FieldBuddy-Professional) can request an update from the Lite edition to the Professional edition. The purpose of this edition is to roll out the core of the new FieldBuddy Dispatch Panel to all customers without upgrade effort. This way all customers can enjoy this new version without needing to wait for an upgrade. This edition of the FieldBuddy Dispatch Panel can work in parallel of [FieldBuddy Dispatch Panel Classic](https://upperdeck.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/FBDOCS/pages/5183307777/FieldBuddy+Glossary#FieldBuddy-Dispatch-Panel-Classic).
