> ℹ️ For demonstration purposes, we are a company that sells TV’s with different sizes. Therefore, we would like to capture what size the TV is that we have installed at our customer.

1. Path 1: click on** “edit object” **and skip step 2. For path 2 **proceed **with** **step 2.
2. From **setup**, go to the** “object manager”**.
In the object manager, search for the object you would like to create a new field for.
3. Navigate to “**Fields and relationships” **on the left side of the screen. And press **‘New’**.

4. We want to capture the size of our TV, therefore we choose the data type** “Number”**.
  Choose **'Next'.**
5. On this page, you can choose for which profiles field is accessible and if the field should be read only.

6. On this page, you can decide whether you want to show the field on (one of) the page layouts.
Use the checkbox to indicate if you want to add it to the page layout. And press **‘save’ **if you are done, or press** “save & new”** to save this field and immediately start creating a new field on the same object.
