# Assign the user to an active FieldBuddy Swift configuration version

This is needed to enable your new user to access and use the FieldBuddy Swift mobile app.

1. Click the App Launcher
2. Type *Configuration*
3. Click **Configuration Editor**
4. Select the newest Active Configuration
5. Click the **Assignment **tab
6. Click triangle icon in the select field
7. Select your user
8. Click **Assign**

# Make sure the new user can be planned in the Dispatch Panel: 

1. Click the App Launcher :Hamburger_menu:
2. Type: *Resources*
3. Click the **Resources **Item
4. Open one of your existing resources in a new tab.
  1. Preferably view one who has the same role as your new technician.
  2. Right-click the name and select **Open link in new tab**
5. Click the **New **button
6. Model your new resource on the existing one. You will see which fields to populate and what Resource Type to use
7. For Resource Name, type the name by which you want the Resource to be shown on the Dispatch Panel. First Name and Last Name is usually the best option.
8. Look up the user. Start typing their name and select the right user as soon as it shows up in the results
9. Look up the Resource Type. Start typing and select the right Resource Type as it shows up in the results
10. Leave **Valid From** and **Valid To** blank and Click **Save**
11. (2) Further steps in the Dispatch panel

After finishing these steps, you may need to check the new Resource to be shows in the Dispatch Panel

1. Navigate to the Dispatch Panel tab
2. Click the Resource filter in the top control bar of the Dispatch Panel
3. Check the checkbox next to the new Technicians name

# Make sure the new user can be planned in the Dispatch Panel V1 (older version, package 1.140 and before, v1): 

### 1. Create a Resource, Resource Unit and Default Resource

1. Click the App Launcher :Hamburger_menu:
2. Type: *Resources*
3. Click the **Resources **Item
4. Open one of your existing resources in a new tab.
  1. Preferably view one who has the same role as your new technician.
  2. Right-click the name and select **Open link in new tab**
5. Click the **New **button
6. Model your new resource on the existing one. You will see which fields to populate and what Resource Type to use
7. For Resource Name, type the name by which you want the Resource to be shown on the Dispatch Panel. First Name and Last Name is usually the best option.
8. Look up the user. Start typing their name and select the right user as soon as it shows up in the results
9. Look up the Resource Type. Start typing and select the right Resource Type as it shows up in the results
10. Leave **Valid From** and **Valid To** blank and Click **Save**
11. Click the new **Related **tab on the resource
12. Click the **New **button on the **Default Resources** related list
13. Click the **Resource Unit** lookup field
14. Click **+ New Resource Unit**
15. Name your Resource Unit
  1. Use the same name you used for the Resource
  2. compare to your existing Resources Resource Unit
16. If your existing Resource Unit is part of a Resource Unit Group, add your new Resource Unit to the same group
17. Leave **Valid From** and **Valid To** blank and click **Save**
18. In the **New Default Resource** screen, also click **Save**

### 2. Further steps in the Dispatch panel

After finishing these steps, you may need to check the new Resource Unit to be show in the Dispatch Panel

1. Navigate to the Dispatch Panel tab
2. Click the Resource Units filter in the top control bar of the Dispatch Panel
3. Check the checkbox next to the new Technicians name
