Key elements are **External field** (3-rd party payload property name) and** Internal field** (salesforce API field )

| Field Mapping Name | Text | Name that makes usually in format of property name from - property name to (Account__c - AccID) |

| Internal Field | Text | API Name of Internal (Salesforce) field to be mapped |
| External Field | Text | Property name of External (non-salesforce) field or path to map the information |
| Is External Mapping Field | Checkbox | In case of child object mapping it is necessary to have a one or a few fields selected in order to correspond and match the records that are returned from remote system
For example, if you create an Invoice with Invoice Lines in Exact Online, then you want the each external id field to be updated with respective ids from exact online, and it is necessary to match those records with returned. So combined value of all those selected fields should be “unique” in terms of current invoice. For example, good candidate would be an Item field since is might be quite unique, but it is possible to select more fields like quantity or notes as well

| Is Required? | Checkbox | Describes if it is required for respective operation. For Inbound – if required field is missing, record will not be inserted/updated in salesforce
For outbound – record will not be sent for 3rd-party system |
| Outbound Response Mapping | Checkbox | Describes whether the field mapping is to map a Salesforce field to an Outbound response. |
| Is Parent Referenced | Checkbox | Describes if field is type of a lookup. If checked, Parent Reference External Id and Parent Reference Name should be populated |
| Parent Reference External Id | Text | Is Parent Referenced is checked - then this should an API name of related records field, for which record should be searched for |
| Parent Reference Name | Text | Is Parent Referenced is checked - then this should be an API name of related records sObject |
| Ext ID | Text, unique | Can be used as External Id for copying configuration between orgs, not necessary to be updated |
